House of Panama Cottage

With the help of friends, family, members and corporate sponsors we have raised $126,000.00 for the construction of a House of Panama cottage. Thank you to everyone who has donated, you have helped us get closer to reaching our dream.

We are in the home stretch and construction is expected to start mid 2016 but we are $70,000.00 short of our goal.

To help us complete out goal we ask you today for a minimum donation of $50.00. If we are unable to raise the additional money we will lose our spot in Balboa Park. Our deadline to raise these funds is December 31, 2015.

Logo Contest

Update: Due to popular demand, our logo contest has been extended one more week to Friday, April 24, 2015 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time.


Founded 25 years ago in August of 1989, the House of Panama is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Our mission is to present the traditions, music and culture of the Republic of Panama in San Diego, California.

We are currently focused on building an International Cottage in Balboa Park for the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration.

To celebrate our past accomplishments and our future goals, we have decided to hold a contest to design our new logo.

Contest

The contest is open to the general public from March 26 – April 17, 2015 April 24, 2015.  The new logo will be proudly displayed on our website, Facebook page, banners and event flyers.

• The logo should work well on white and colored backgrounds.
• Hand drawn logos will be accepted.

Entries are due April 17, 2015 April 24, 2015 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time.

Include your Name, Phone Number and email address with your entry. Entries must be submitted by email to house_of_panama@yahoo.com

All entries will be reviewed and voted on by the House of Panama Board and Members.

Prize

The designer of the winning logo will be announced on our website. As the winner, you will receive free membership to the House of Panama for 2016. You will also be formally recognized at our Summer Lawn program on August 9, 2015.

Announcements: 2015 Queens and Scholarship

QUEENS

House of Panama is looking for young ladies to represent Panama in the House of Pacific Relations (HPR) Queens Organization.

Applications are due July 1, 2015.

• Queen and Princesses must be between the ages of 14 and 19 on October 1st of each year.
• Junior princesses must be between the ages of 10 and 13 years (under 14) on October 1st of each year.
• Pee wee princesses must be between the ages of 8 and 9 years (under 10) on October 1st of each year.

SCHOLARSHIP

The House of Panama 2015 Scholarship application is now available.

Award winners will receive up to a $1,000 and 1 year membership to the House of Panama. Application and essay must be postmarked by June 26, 2015.

Applications will be reviewed by the Board of Directors on the basis of essay and academic standing. Scholarships will be awarded at the Summer Lawn Program on August 9, 2015.
