Beauty of the Fight

John Urbano

 - Photographer and filmmaker John Urbano explores, with intimate and devastating imagery, two historic barrios of Panama: Barraza and El Chorrillo which suffered heavy losses when the U.S. invaded in 1989 to capture General Manuel Antonio Noriega.  With barrios facing extinction due to outside private and commercial developments, Urbano renders for posterity the residents' daily struggle as well as the dignity, joy and hope for the future.
