House of Panama

The House of Panama is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit organization whose main purpose is to participate in the activities of the "House of Pacific Relations"; to present to the public the traditions, music and culture of the Republic of Panama; and to contribute to foster and cultivate a spirit of understanding, tolerance and goodwill between all the national groups residing in the city of San Diego, California.

The House of Panama is the first Panamanian cultural house in a museum setting outside of the Isthmus of Panama.  We are one of 31 National Groups under the umbrella of the House of Pacific Relations, International Cottages, Inc.,  which is part of beautiful Balboa Park, in San Diego, California.   We are supported by donations as well as the hard work of our members who volunteer at each and every fundraiser.

Did you know that Balboa Park has its name because the Park offered a wide view of the Pacific Ocean and explorer Vazco Nuñez de Balboa was the first European to see the Pacific Ocean from the coast of Panama?

That is why our main goal is to obtain our very own cottage.  What better way to show the wonderful customs and culture from the country that gave this wonderful park its name, not only to the residents of San Diego, but to all the visitors from around the world that visit America's Finest City.

The House of Panama is a Non-Profit Organization 501(c) 3.   Therefore, all donations are tax deductible.
